Conversation with Anita Ramirez
October 21, 2021
6:00 PM - 7:30 PM
Anita Ramírez completed her undergraduate and graduate degrees in mechanical engineering from the University of Illinois at Chicago. After some time performing transportation research at Argonne National Laboratory she transitioned into her current role as a dedicated educator at Richard J. Daley College. She aims to make Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) interesting and accessible to learners of all backgrounds. She is continuously looking for new ways to engage students and integrate social justice and joy in STEM education. Her grandparents immigrated from México to the southeast side of Chicago where she was proudly born and raised by hard-working parents. In her free time, she can be found running the neighborhood while pushing her two toddlers in their lit-up buggy.
She will be joining us to talk to our GREATS scholars about career pathways.
